FAQ — iPhone Duo cases, answered
Straight answers about the iPhone Duo and ĀHUA cases. Written by people who have read every spec sheet Apple has published — and noticed what they haven't.
Does the ĀHUA case fit the iPhone Duo?
Yes. ĀHUA cases are made only for the iPhone Duo (announced 9 September 2026, shipping 23 October). Folded, the Duo is 117.8 × 84.1 × 11.3 mm; unfolded it is 117.8 × 164.6 × 5.2 mm — wider than it is tall. Every case is fit-tested on a retail unit before we finish it. If Apple's final accessory guidelines change anything, your pre-order is refunded in full.
Does the case cover the hinge?
Yes — fully. ĀHUA is a one-piece shell that wraps the fold. Apple's own Duo Case is two pieces with the hinge exposed, and most third-party cases on sale today are two or three pieces. On foldable phones the hinge is the first thing to fail, then the cover display, then the camera lenses. Covering it was the whole point.
Is there a kickstand?
Yes. A concealed multi-angle kickstand is built into the back panel. It works with the Duo folded or open, in either orientation. No adhesive, no stick-on rings, nothing that peels off after a summer in the car.
Does the iPhone Duo need a screen protector?
Outer screen: yes, and one is included. The 5.4-inch cover display is Ceramic Shield 2 glass and takes a normal tempered protector.
Inner folding screen: no — and we recommend against it. The 7.6-inch inner display ships with a factory-bonded protective layer. Third-party films on folding displays are known to cause delamination and bubbling along the crease. Apple has published no guidance on inner-display protectors and sells none. Until that changes, leave it alone.
Does MagSafe work through the case?
Yes. MagSafe and Qi2 charging up to 25W work through the case. One honest trade-off: a hinge cover adds a little thickness at the fold, so some very large MagSafe accessories (big battery packs, car mounts that clamp near the hinge) may sit less flush. Chargers, wallets and standard mounts are fine.
What does ĀHUA mean?
ĀHUA is te reo Māori for form, shape and character — the way something appears, and also what it is really like underneath. That is the brief for every case we make.
Who designs the artwork?
Māori artists, commissioned under written agreement with commercial rights agreed up front. The artist is named on the product page and on the box, and earns a royalty on every case sold for as long as the design exists. Nothing is released without the artist seeing it. No iwi or whānau motifs are used without permission. Expression collection artists are announced when the Duo ships.
When will my pre-order ship?
October 2026. Apple ships the Duo on 23 October; we fit-test on a retail unit, then finish and ship pre-orders in order received. You're charged in full at checkout and emailed the moment your case leaves Queensland. Pre-orders can be cancelled for a full refund any time before they ship.
Where do you ship?
Australia and New Zealand at launch, from the Gold Coast. Tracked shipping to Australia and New Zealand is calculated at checkout.
What's your returns policy?

Is ĀHUA an Australian or New Zealand business?
Both, honestly. ĀHUA is New Zealand–owned and designed in Aotearoa; the store is Australian and the cases are finished and shipped from Queensland. Prices are in Australian dollars.
